Etruscan Coast Far from Sea 17 Km

The so-called Etruscan Coast stretches between Livorno and Piombino, passing through a stunning seaside resort near Castiglioncello, Quercianella, Rosignano, Cecina, Bibbona, Marina di Castagneto and San Vincenzo.
The Etruscan Coast gets its name from the ancient Etruscans, refined gentlemen of Tuscany between the ninth and the first century BC . The evidence of the presence of the Etruscans are scattered everywhere along the coast. One example is the Archaeological Park of Baratti-Populonia (Etruscan necropolis and acropolis) and the museums full of Etruscan, Roman and Villanovan, such as those of Rosignano Marittimo
The Etruscan Coast offers beaches, playgrounds, sailing, tours, sports and a natural oasis. Every lover of nature will recall the presence of other important natural parks such as the WWF Oasi di Bolgheri, and coastal parks Rimigliano and Sterpaia.

Bolgheri Distance 34 km Time 40min

Typical medieval village of Bolgheri is always remembered for the impressive avenue of cypress trees which is sung in the famous poem by Carducci entitled "In front of San Guido." Carducci spent his childhood in Bolgheri. .
Along the road heading towards Bolgheri you can see the little church of San Guido, built in memory of San Guido Gherardesca in 1703 and near the church is an obelisk which was dedicated to Carducci in 1957, on the fiftieth anniversary of his death.
At the end of the avenue, the entrance into the historical center is marked by the arched door of the imposing castle of Gherardesca .. The town was made famous not only for its scenic beauty but also for its great red wines. Among the most famous wines are the Sassicaia, the wine of the many native sangiovese wines of the Tenuta Ornellaia and Guado al Tasso.

Siena is an ancient Etruscan city situated in the heart of Tuscany which reached its peak period in the Middle Ages. Home of Duccio who along with Cimabue and Giotto are considered the fathers of Italian art. It is possible to admire the ancient walls and the structure of the medieval village built by narrow alleys and noble palaces. Notes of interest are the Cathedral, which dates from the fourteenth century, the Piazza del Campo, site of the Palio di Siena, its surrounding buildings, and as many as 15 museums including the Palace Museum, National Art Gallery and the Museum of Tablets.

Pisa Distance 44 km Time 1h

Pisa is a city of ancient origins, was in fact created by an Etruscan settlement, then became a Roman colony, of which there are now many examples in the religious and civil buildings, narrow alleys and in the form of squares. The city, bathed by the river Arno, reached its zenith in the 11 - 12th century as an important naval base and thanks to trades that spread throughout the Mediterranean. The most important monument is undoubtedly the Leaning Tower and Duomo in its Pisan Romanesque style created by Buscheto, even if it is worth visiting the Church of Santa Maria della Spina, and the ancient Church of S. Paolo a Ripa d'Arno, the latter example of  the Pisan Romanesque architecture.

Lucca is one of the few towns in Tuscany that still preserves the walls which were built between 1504 and 1645 but, were never used for defense. Lucca became famous in the fifteenth century to the art of silk that became the main source of income. Today you can admire the Palazzo della Signoria, the church of Santi Giovanni e Reparata and San Martin square where the cathedral dedicated to San Martino and most important religious building in the city. In Piazza San Giusto, Antelminelli square and adjacent streets.
Famous for its antique markets held every month of the year, the second Saturday and third Sunday of the month. Here you can find collectibles on display and for sale including declared copies of antiques, objects of at least 50 years or older and used items that are at least 40 years old.

San Gimignano Distance: 58 Km Time 1hr 15

Considered the “Medieval Manhattan” and famous worldwide for its remaining 14 towers, San Gimignano is situated in the heart of Tuscany between Florence and Siena to 334 meters above sea level and on a hill overlooking the Val d'Elsa.
Originally, San Gimignano was a small Etruscan village of the Hellenistic period (200/300 BC), but began to expand only after the tenth century, taking its name from the Bishop of Modena Gimignano, who saved the town several times against barbarian attacks.. In medieval times, the 72 towers represented wealth and power of noble families.

Volterra: Distance: 55Km Time 1h 10

Situated between the valleys of the rivers Cecina and Era, Volterra is an old city surrounded by solid walls, it is important not only for the remains of the Etruscan civilization and the medieval period, but also for the working of alabaster, which today are the typical products of local handicrafters. Having been a flourishing Etruscan city it was overtaken by the Romans where it became its municipal. Volterra is now a haven of Etruscan, Medieval and Renaissance art that has remained unchanged in the passage of centuries and that still allows us to admire the streets between the Theater Vallebona, Palazzo dei Priori of the thirteenth century Praetorian Palace, with the embattled tower known as the Tower of the Piggy" Stunning views of the Tuscan countryside, including the 'crags', a natural erosion just west of Volterra which has destroyed the most ancient churches and Etruscan necropolis,
